Cross Country (Fall)

Youth entering 4th or 5th grade will be introduced to distance running in a different format than track and field. Youth entering 6th grade can now participate in the school Cross Country program. Youth Cross Country meets are typically held on grass such as golf courses and parks. Distances vary from 600 meters to 2 miles. Practices will be held two days a week. The program is designed to allow athletes to participate in other fall activities, such as football, soccer and volleyball.

The 2008 Fall Season will run from mid-August through the end of October. The registration fee is $35, unless your child was a 2008 track and field participant. Then their registration fee is only $25.

Season: Team practices are held a minimum of two times per week beginning mid-August and continuing through late October. Meet and practice schedules are posted in the Announcements. Your child will compete against their own age group and possibly older runners depending on the meets. Meet locations are Farmington, Apple Valley, Eagan and Lakeville.

Road races are optional. There is a separate registration fee for road races.
